Who’s Priit Pärn?

Priit Pärn (born 8/26/1946 in Tallinn) is an Estonian cartoonist and animation director whose films have enjoyed success among critics as well as the public at various film festivals. He is married to Olga Pärn which has co-directed some of his films such as DIVERS IN THE RAIN.

Priit Pärn has been an active as a caricaturist and illustrator since the end of the 1960s, he’s had over 30 solo exhibitions in various European countries along with Canada. He has also worked as a teacher since 1990, teaching at film scholls in Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, Holland, Spain, France, and England. He’s even held brief workshops in Australia and Canada. He’s been a member of the European Film Academy since 2008.

Commercial animated series such as Rugrats and AAAHH!!! Real Monsters! directed by Igor Kovalyov feature graphical style inspired by the work of Priit Pärn.

His works have won many awards especially in Europe. There’s even a festival created in his honor called the Priit Pärn Animated Film Festival which was first held in 2012.
